Vancouver home prices and sales to break records in 2010

The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) expects housing re-sales and prices to rise to annual records in 2010, surpassing the previous peak set in 2007 by 1.2 percent.

British Columbia and Ontario are expected to lead the growth in Canada fuelled by low interest rates and buyer's motivated to avoid the harmonized sales tax that will come into effect in July.

CREA expects the national average home price to increase 5.4 percent in 2010, and the ease off in 2011 to 1.5 percent growth as interest rates increase.
