Pinnacle Living on Broadway – Kitsilano’s newest condo development kicks up a buzz

Anybody that lives in Kits will know the liquor store and IGA between Maple and Arbutus St off West Broadway quite well. Getting a parking spot there on Friday night or during the weekend can be challenging to say the least.

So I can honestly say I was slightly surprised when I heard about Pinnacles new proposed development "Pinnacle Living on Broadway" which will be smack dab where the Liquor store and IGA are currently located. The IGA will eventually be gone, potentially replaced by another grocery store, the liquor store ... well it's nice to be near one but most of us don't want one at our front door do we? Here's what we know so far.

By 2012 the site will have upon it a glass and metal building, with brick facing at its base along the front of the block where the parking lot is at the moment.  The retail space for the development will be approx 20,000 square feet, not a bad sized space for some smart business owners to get into an up and coming part of Kitsilano.

The structure will have two small towers at each end, with the roof line dipping down in the middle. The tiering style that will be used enables the developer to provide decent sized balconies and terraces for the apartments.  A smart idea as outdoor space is always much sought after, adds value, and frankly people are getting tired of the common ridiculously small "balconies" that allow you to use them for pretty much nothing. One bedrooms will have anywhere from 45 to 374 square feet of deck ... not bad at all.

Other mentionable features include oversized walk through closets, en-suite bathrooms, space for a king size bed (even in the 1 bedroom units believe it or not), natural stone countertops, air conditioning in all units, full sized Frigidaire washer and dryers, BOSCH ovens, and large Fischer Paykel refrigerators. Want upgrades?  Pinnacle feels they offer so much already they don't have any.

Having looked at the designs and reviewed there building concepts I think Pinnacle Living on Broadway has great potential.  The location is ideal as you are nicely tucked between UBC and downtown, close enough to the beach to still be able to walk there, and just a skip away from all the great shops, restaurants, pubs, and everything else that West Broadway has to offer.   Maybe this is your chance to get into one of Vancouver's hottest neighbourhoods.

Previews available now and sales expected to begin formally at the end of March.
